Channel4 on Saturday night, 8:15pm, are showing a documentary of Christian mission reaching a high place of youth culture… Ibiza. Clubbers who follow Jesus, following the call to reach out to clubbers like themselves in a place that many westerners have devoted to sex, drugs, drink and dance. This is television that doesn’t spend the 45minutes slamming Christianity as an out of date, irrelevant, circle of ungrace but just puts across the real and unglorified story of these radical youngsters doing their thing. Presents something of the essense of the movement that I am volunteering for… so this may help explain to you what on earth I’m involved with, whether you are a Christian who thinks I have gone off on a tangent or just a friend who worries that I am wasting my life for a bunch of irrelevant ideals. I’m going to be at work when it is showed so I’ll miss is, I recommend you don’t, whether Jesus is your mate or not.
ps: how do you know it’s worth a watch? because I went to see the preview at the curzon in soho a while back
pps: some of the guys featured are out there in Ibiza again this summer… they’re blogging too
