Hmmm… tomorrow I go to the job centre with my mate Andy. Things have been a bit crazy at the club recently in the area of staffing and one of those crazy things was that I handed in my notice. On the same day 2 others did the same and that was just after 3 others had done so the previous week. Then some of them went back after negotiating with the club owners. So I need your prayers that I will be able to find the right, good job for me in good time.

The life was slowly being sucked out of me even though I tried to have fun, even though I persevered. I did, we had been chatting about leaving for a while. I never felt valued as an employee… and that as part of a venture that hopes to be known for its great values in treating people, all people, well and as individuals. They said that they will miss me behind the work but all could see that gradually the sparkle had faded from my eyes. I don’t need to puy up with rubbish when it is only a part time temporary job that I need.

My arm is doing much better now. It is out of the sling and bandaging and feeling strong though still tender. I’m hoping to visit Durham soon to catch up with my friends that I made and check out how the city is doing after all the prayer that we invested into it in my final year at uni and since. Mostly I’m going to go and hang out with the guy I used to do a cell with. I may go phone my friend in Oz now and read a little Brennan Manning before hitting the bed.

Sorry for not posting much recently. Have had a crazy weekend of working at the club in Manchester and playing in an Ultimate tournee in Leeds during the day. Finished that off with a trip to hospital, which followed an arm injury and me going in into shock. Whoa there.

Well the doctors, yet again, failed to give explanation to the lack of mobility but excess of pain in my left wrist. Sent me home with some painkillers and a sling… woohoo. Very hesitant to take any type of drugs but I took some as the last thing that I needed after that weekend was a sleepless night. I slept solid for 14hrs. A few days later I can hardly believe that my arm was in such a bad state because my super fast healing body has come through again and there hardly seems anything wrong with it. A sports physio friend said that I probably needed to see a physio expert to get any indication as the doctors and multiple x-rays had failed so far. I’m left with a tender arm that I am being very careful with “just in case of anything” (to quote the hospital nurse).

The frisbee tournament by the way was a mixed bag… the saturday was hard work without subs but we played well, sunday saw the addition of a couple of players to our squad this unfortunately disturbed the gel of our team play.

My phone has been playing up a lot recently… sorry to those who have been trying to get hold of me.

On the majority if nights when we get our staff-taxi home from work we go in the MPV with our friend Attu who is becoming more than just a taxi driver, he is becoming a friend. He knows the names of the south manchester crew and where we live, no need to give directions. Sit back, relax and chat about the football… especially on these late Saturday night shifts. Comical and exaggerated stories that you expect from taxi drivers and bar tenders alike. Weird how it is the little things in life that brings a smile to your face. Though these days may be short lived as a crucial few of the south manchester posse are on the verge of leaving the club, oh well… life goes on.
