Sorry for the lack of writing recently but then again it is not just me being rubbish but also the computer has put up a poor show recently. Then again what has happened worthy of being shared?
I’ve done the general day to day things, been to work a few times, played frisbee a number of times and once went to the post office to collect Green and Black’s egg (thankyou mother).
The days continue to fade into eachother as we struggle along with the boiler. What is the strategy we need to follow? What is Manchester ready for? What do we need to do for the city to embrace this movement of friends excited about intimate and adventurous faith and wanting their city to kiss their God, who are often mistaken for a prayer movement?
We got up early on Wednesday and jumped on the train. Spot on time we walked into the Curzon Cinema, Soho, London to watch our friends in a documentary filmed for channel4. Why worthy of a TV documentary? Forgetting their wooden coffins these 24-7ers stepped out as missionaries to a mediterranean island. The notorious island, the modern day Sodom and Gomorrah that is Ibiza. They reached out and took on the battle in the party town of San Antonio. They prayed and danced, cleaned and served, DJ-ed and loved among their peers in this mission field, this high place of youth culture. For once a mainstream TV docu did not snipe and mock Christianity but rather gave it a honest showing, revealing the space of a culturally relevant and present faith in everyday people.
Matt is awaiting a few miracles… if you would like to let God use you to fulfill one or more of these please make my day.
