When I first agreed to move into a house in Moss Side I had a dream that very night. I haven’t time to fill in the details of the dream but significantly I got shot in the dream while I was in Moss Side. I am due to move soon, sometime early September. The other day, to make may day a great one, I heard the news of a shooting in Moss Side. Tension in the area has been high since the killing and I haven’t been so excited about moving anymore eventhough reports suggest a significant drop in shootings this year. Now, I haven’t been scared of the infamous Moss Side and was feeling quite safe as trouble happens between gangs and is usually drug related, so why would I have a dream about me being shot and then this just before I move to the area?

Haven’t had much of a chance to update this weblog recently but have been up to all sorts, which I’ll quickly fill you in on:
Went saw my parents for a few days in Birmingham, couldn’t get myself home from the city centre because they have changed it around loads. Not much to do at home, apart from a few chats with the family, as my mates are off on mission in Poland again. Got back to Manchester and spent Friday with some skaters, a few of them were american pro-skaters. They were building a skate park from scratch, for festival:manchester and I helped out with that. Good time spent shifting stuff around, hammering and using power tools. That was only the pre-build and this coming week I’ll be helping the final on-site build.
Saturday was spent with a hire van trudging prayer room resources across to the tent-city of festival:manchester where we will be hosting a large music / prayer / dining tent amonst the happy campers helping with the community projects. It had been a long day when I eventually fell into bed after another bar-shift, at just gone 5am.
Today was spent catching up on sleep and hanging with new friends Jon and Ellie… who I’ll be living right near to when I move to Moss Side in a week’s time. Well, we’ll see if it is a week or longer; Caleb has been doing a great job getting the place done up all swanky but has been a bit of a fight for him. Ooh, and Jon gave me a cool little toy VW Split Camper Van… I want a real one next!
So this week coming will feature hosting the ‘Wax Tent’ at festival:manchester, building a skate park, a few bar-shifts and packing my stuff to move house. Hopefully I won’t lose as mush sleep as I have over the last few days but I got a feeling that I will end up losing a lot more.
I wish had a better quality picture of this australian beauty but I don’t have a great collection on the computer. On both sides of the planet Cozz is an inspiration and has such a broken heart for girls it is touching… her life story brought tears to my eyes. Soon after meeting, in the Reading Boiler last September, I realised this young aussie was going to fully mess me up (in a good way).
Some lyrics by my mate Mark, you’ll have to ask him for the tune…
Cozz didn’t come to England to be a monk, but on any giving evening she was totally drunk
(drunken aussie)
She stumbled around, she wasn’t well spoken, and that got her the name as a resident bogan.
She wasnt very pleased, when Miriam said she looked fat in those jeans!
Some random facts:
i) she is a bogan but virtually all the guys she meets fall in love with her,
ii) hotmail blocked her account as they thought she was spamming people,
iii) moaned and moaned about cold and wet ol’ england,
iv) gave me the jeans i’m sitting in right now… woohoo,
v) made Dan B cry when she kicked his arse.
She can currently be found walking around dazed and confused somewhere near Melbourne.
