Urban-this, urban-that.

As a hopeful urban-revolutionary I would like to endorse these sneakers that i found advertised in the latest edition of Adbusters. Elsewhere, the magazine gave me some almost-great advice on how to avoid the artistic trap: never go to art school, never go to N.Y, never rent a loft. My artistic trap maybe thinking that my writing is anything more than a hobby.

Stencils.

I couldn’t sleep last night, so i read a bit of my stencil graffiti book. Impressed and curious with the work of Banksy I decided to go check out his site. Stencil graffiti not only claims back the urban canvas but offers a great aesthetic approach in a world full of True-Color super-sized corporate advertisements. Stenciling usually has a revolutary edge to it, this is good. Maybe I will eventually find my creative and artistic space in the form of stencil graffiti, writing and prophetic poetry? Maybe.

The site informs me that “Rats carry up to 35 different diseases. They have killed more people in the last thousand years than all the wars and revolutions in the World combined.”
