I received a free T-Shirt in the post today from my friend at Discwing.com. Some of my favourite things are free T-Shirts, my fashion is not so experimental as to venture far beyond my well practiced tee and jeans look that will eternally make me look like a student. While on the bus into town I saw a guy and a little girl, just a toddler really. On a bench on the sunny side of a cherry blossom he drummed away with sticks and she joined in, as happy as a little lady Larry. Then I noticed, when he offered her a drink of ribena, that he was supping on a can of stella. We are constantly warned not to drink and drive, not to operate heavy machinery while under the influence, but where are the signs that say do not drink while in charge of a human life? What is out there to remind us all of our responsibility and to use our common sense?
Recently I have been to watch the bands Third World Soul and Blindride, both at Night’N'Day. I recommend you that you check them out if you get the chance. The venue won the ‘City Life Bar of the Year’ award recently, good to see a place void of pretense winning prizes, and is the place to play if you are an upcoming band. Everyone in Manchester is in an upcoming band it seems!
