At about 6:20pm this evening there will be an article about the Manchester Women’s team and their current attempt to make it to the World Ultimate Club Championships in November 2006 held in Perth, Australia.
So today at training we were able to laugh at all the takes that had to be done to get it right when the camera was actually rolling. It was also quite funny to see the news broadcaster in a suit and wellys (or gum boots as they call them down under), and he had some great cheesy lines too. Kenny, from Chevron, who has recently taken over the role of Women’s Coach, used plenty of takes to get his little interview right.
The girls are planning to get sponsorship to go to the event, they are thinking it will cost about £2000 pounds each and there will be about 20 of them going.
Meanwhile, I would love to go also but not with the Women’s team.
Been feeling ill for a while now, haven’t been able to shake this cold and not been sleeping well. Anyways, no frisbee for me over the weekend but we did manage to build a shed in the Wallace Avenue back yard, which made for a productive Saturday.
I’m really not enjoying the dull, damp and drizzly days. This week I’m house-sitting in Rusholme while a couple of friends are off on a romantic half-term trip. It’s a bit of holiday for me of sorts as the house is quite nice and I get it to myself including indulgent things like internet, wide screen TV and a playstation2. Not things that I’m usually that bothered about but feel quite novel. I have to make sure I don’t kill the cat (Minnie but I call her Min-star).
God promises to provide our needs and, hallelujah, he has been doing that for me. I’m currently wondering where his stance is on the things that I would like? I have enjoyed the occasional bottle of wine or pint of beer and that, many would argue, goes beyond provision for just my needs. So there is some precedence. But what about the larger things, the more expensive, the less day to day?
Some examples: I really would love to go play at the World Ultimate Club Championships. How about just some new decent kit to wear while playing in Manchester? I would like a legal copy of photoshop for mac, and some tutoring, so that I could make some stencils and learn graphic design.
And let’s bring us back out of my wants and to the world’s need: I was reading this response on 24-7prayer.com to the recent world chaos.
