Al Fresco Internet

I’m sat watching my neighbour paint her kitchen while I use the internet on the ‘balcony’.   It’s not as warm as it was earlier and my toes are starting to go a little numb.  Oh well, maybe it’s a good thing that spring isn’t quite here already; otherwise I would get worried that life really is flying by too fast.

I’m considering making bird boxes to sell, put your orders in now.  However, I’m thinking that maybe the birds can just do what they were made to do and build nests in trees.  But maybe there aren’t the trees for them to inhabit, in which case: should we make boxes or plant trees?

The Little Birds

Over the last week it has been a pleasure and a joy to see numerous little birds reappear in the back garden.  I was seriously tempted to follow the instuctions of a Guardian newspaper supplement and build a highrise bird box for the sparrows.  However, my body has finally succumbed to all the sickness going around at the moment, and the idea of sourcing tools and materials seemed too much.

I think I’ll leave the complicated highrise option for the ‘professional DIY-ers’ and consider a more humble abode to offer the blue tits.
